Hiking areas within Takamatsu city limits are certainly few and far between, and Yashima is by far the most popular. Parking is available nearby the trailhead on the side of the road. The hike takes less than an hour, and you are rewarded with views of the city, beautiful forests, and historic sites. The trail is wide and well paved, with a few statues and benches along the way. There is a place where you can take an alternate route up the plateau that ends at the Yashima Castle ruins.
