This pretty beach on the same side of Awaji Island as the Water Temple and Yume-no-Butai was all but deserted in spring, but must be popular in summertime. The resort area with a paved promenade extends about 400 meters along the shore between two small rivers, one of which is spanned by a quirky replica of London bridge currently in a state of disrepair. Two museums, Neko Bijutsukan which features cat art, and Awaji-shi Tougeikan, a pottery museum and workshop, stand beside the beach. The Higashi-Ura Bus Terminal Park is also nearby.
